Laura M. Mockridge, FSA, MAAA, CLU
Ms. Mockridge is a member of Capstan Equity Group, LLC and a Principal Consultant with its insurance consulting subsidiary, Global Preferred Solutions, Inc.
Product development and marketing have been the main emphasis of Ms. Mockridge’s 25 year career in the life insurance and financial services industry. She brings to her clients extensive experience as an illustration actuary and in product design, pricing, implementation and experience reporting. She has performed feasibility studies and competitive analyses of various products and markets providing her clients information regarding the risk/reward trade off of their decisions. She has also been responsible for the development of budget models and projection of various insurance products and has negotiated product and compensation changes with providers. She was instrumental in the design, implementation and administration of an agent owned reinsurance program.
Ms. Mockridge is experienced working with software developers on sales, in force and financial projection programs. She has provided specifications for both product and sales strategies and has developed testing matrices to ensure the software correctness and integrity. Ms. Mockridge has also served as the product and technical expert for marketing in the development of sales and training material for use in the field, for legal in developing product suitability guidelines and for compliance in dealing with DOI, regulatory and IMSA issues.
Prior to joining Global Preferred Solutions, Ms. Mockridge served as Senior Vice President, Actuarial, for Primerica Financial Services in Duluth, Georgia and was the Illustration Actuary. In addition to serving as the actuarial liaison to Primerica’s marketing, compliance, publication, agent software and legal departments, she was responsible for the technical correctness of all sales and training materials, development of competitive, feasibility and experience studies and modeling the financial impact of product and compensation changes. Ms. Mockridge also worked as a product development actuary for Confederation Life Insurance Company and a marketing actuary for Management Compensation Group, an insurance broker specializing in the COLI/BOLI market. Both companies were located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ms. Mockridge is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Chartered Life Underwriter. She has taught actuarial seminars on life insurance at Georgia State University and was a member of the review panel for LOMA’s ”Intro to Life insurance Sales Illustrations”.
