Stephen Banks, FSA, MAAA
Mr. Banks is an Associate Consultant for the insurance consulting firm of Global Preferred Solutions, Inc. For most of his career, Mr. Banks has focused on valuation, financial reporting and modeling for a variety of life insurance and annuity products.
Prior to joining Global Preferred Solutions, Mr. Banks served as Assistant Actuary, Financial Reporting for Munich American Reinsurance Company. He developed substantial technical expertise of actuarial systems and a broad based knowledge of various life, annuity, disability and long-term care products while performing his responsibilities of reserve calculations, business analysis, embedded value, cash flow testing, sensitivity analysis and corporate planning.
Mr. Banks has worked with multiple actuarial software systems, including TAS, PolySystems (LifeMaster and HealthMaster), AXIS, and assorted proprietary systems. In his prior position, he developed a reputation for innovative problem solving which lead colleagues to routinely look to Mr. Banks for help when facing challenging issues.
Before beginning work in the life insurance industry, Mr. Banks was an Actuarial Associate in the pension consulting practice of PriceWaterhouse Coopers. There he performed data analysis, pension liability valuation and a system conversion.
Mr. Banks is a graduate of Georgia State University, where he earned a BBA in Actuarial Science. He is Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
