Stephen D. Ammer
Mr. Ammer is a founding member of Capstan Equity Group, LLC and a Principal Consultant with its insurance consulting subsidiary, Global Preferred Solutions, Inc. Recent consulting activities include the development and maintenance of the accounting and financial reporting for the general and separate accounts of two recently formed Caribbean based Insurance Companies for a client. Mr. Ammer was also a key contributor in structuring the administrative operations of these companies.
Mr. Ammer lends to Global Preferred Solution’s and its clients 35 years of insurance industry management experience and accounting support. Mr. Ammer has led the development of accounting internal control processes, provided support in GAAP financial reporting, planned and directed numerous system conversions, developed high level specifications for project implementations and process automation, and constructed cost/benefit analysis for system enhancements. During his tenure, he has also directed an array of insurance business units, including premium accounting, policyholder services, new business administration, policy administration and claims processing. Further, Mr. Ammer has been engaged with numerous business acquisition projects, with primary emphasis on the integration of operations.
Prior to the formation of Capstan, Mr. Ammer was Senior Accountant with Global Preferred Holdings, Inc. In that capacity, he worked directly with the Chief Accounting Officer to streamline processes, produce Statutory Financials for its wholly owned Bermuda based subsidiary, Global Preferred Re, Ltd. and Consolidated GAAP financials for both Global Preferred Holdings, Inc and Global Preferred Re, Ltd.. Mr. Ammer also served as Vice President of Administration at SunAmerica Financial, Director of Group Health Claims at Anthem Inc. and Project Manager at Strategic Business Systems. He received a BS in Business Administration and a Masters Degree in Accounting. Mr. Ammer also holds an HIAA designation and has passed the CPA exam.
